Description

The Opportunity The Head of Strategic Portfolio and Management in WCA is responsible for delivering an efficient and effective award management function. They will lead award management for all programmes, and develop best practice award management processes across West and Central Africa’s 9 Country Offices. The role has three main aspects to it: lead and develop the regional award management effort including compliance, staff capacity building and contributing to the development of best practices systems and processes. The role offers a leadership opportunity for an individual highly experienced in grants management, business development and donor communications. It requires an individual capable of providing strategic leadership to a dynamic team, which is responsible for supporting ambitious fundraising targets as well as the management of a portfolio of awards currently valued at $490m in terms of life of award, and an annual budget of 200M. The individual will be responsible for working with all other teams in the regional office/countries to develop the capacity of all staff as it pertains to Award Management, and provide on-the-job support to develop an awards management system that supports Save the Children quality standards. The individual will play a strong coordination role both internally, across the Save the Children global network and with donors to identify funding opportunities. They will review high risk and value proposals that are reflective of Save the Children and donor strategic objectives, whilst also ensuring proposal budgets are accurately costed. During the implementation of regional projects, they will provide support and information to the technical, field-based and operations teams to deliver donor compliant awards (rules and regulations) and will ensure the consistent delivery of timely donor reports. The maintenance of the Award Management System and day-to-day management of the team will be a primary function of the Head of Award Management in WCA. Opportunity Overview Reporting to the Regional Director for West and Central Africa, this exciting career opportunity that will suit someone with significant ambition, high potential and passion for making a difference in the lives of children. Position Profile As a member of the Regional Senior Leadership Team, the Director of Program Development, Quality and Advocacy (PDQA) shares in the overall responsibility for the strategic direction of all Country Offices within the Region. The Director of PDQA supports Country Offices to deliver on their strategic objective in all contexts, ensuring immediate and lasting change for children, in line with Save the Children’s theory of change. This requires strategy formulation, strategic portfolio design and positioning, evidence based programme design integrated with advocacy and campaign aspects, competitive proposal development, and high quality, accountable delivery of activities, evidence generation and learning. The role The Roving Supply Chain Manager provides strategic and technical Supply Chain leadership and support to assigned Cos. The Roving Supply Chain Manager acts as Country Office Focal point for Procurement, Asset Management, Fleet Management, Inventory Management, Supply Chain projects roll out, Supply Chain HR management, and data management. This role should be performed in regular coordination with assigned COs, in order to ensure high quality Supply Chain technical and management backstop support, linking with all relevant COs and RO stakeholders. He/she is the first point of contact for COs concerning anything related to Supply Chain, providing guidance, leadership, support and coordination. This role should be embedded within assigned COs Supply Chain teams, ensuring that each staff within supply chain function can contact him/her to raise issue or obtain ad hoc support. In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly. Qualifications and experience • A Degree in Procurement I Logistics or related area, Master's degree an advantage • At least five years logistics management or operations management level experience in logistics in the NGO sector, within complex/large scale country programmes and in emergency response/humanitarian environments. • Minimum 3 years international management experience is must. Description

The role The Roving Supply Chain Manager provides strategic and technical Supply Chain leadership and support to assigned Cos. The Roving Supply Chain Manager acts as Country Office Focal point for Procurement, Asset Management, Fleet Management, Inventory Management, Supply Chain projects roll out, Supply Chain HR management, and data management. This role should be performed in regular coordination with assigned COs, in order to ensure high quality Supply Chain technical and management backstop support, linking with all relevant COs and RO stakeholders. He/she is the first point of contact for COs concerning anything related to Supply Chain, providing guidance, leadership, support and coordination. This role should be embedded within assigned COs Supply Chain teams, ensuring that each staff within supply chain function can contact him/her to raise issue or obtain ad hoc support. In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly. CHILD SAFEGUARDING: Level 3: the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff. ROLE PURPOSE: The Program Design and Quality Director shares in the overall responsibility for the direction and coordination of the Country Office programing with a focus on strategic planning, new program development, quality assurance of existing programs and reporting (in close support of the Director of Programs) and MEAL. As a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT) in Senegal, s/he is responsible for overseeing the MEAL team and the New Business team and plays a significant role in supporting the program team (quality assurance, reporting) and the new business/program development team (quality assurance). Description

The role The West and Central Africa Region has a regional management office in Dakar. The primary role of the regional management unit is to support and build the capacity about 9-10 country programmes across the region. The regional management unit is also a small business unit in itself and as such receives funds up to USD 6,000,000 from SCI and Donors to run both oversight related operations as well as regional programmes. The regional management office will need back office support to assure proper use and management of these funds. In finance, the Assistant Accountantwill contribute to the implementation of the accounting systems, policies and procedures. He/she supports the department through the collection, processing, recording of financial data, verifying the validity, completeness and accuracy of source documentation, performing daily accounting activities such as analysis, maintenance, completing, and verification of specific financial data and documents.

Description

The role Your role will be to support the country finance teams in the region, helping them to consolidate information, to provide analysis and to facilitate effective business processes and workflows. In providing high quality support to Country Office finance teams, you will be part of the team effort for monthly, quarterly and annual financial processes. In this role, you are expected to leverage financial analysis techniques, tools, and software to provide insights. You will need to provide timely, relevant and accurate reporting. You will be a go to partner to provide support/guidance to Country Offices on system/technical queries for financial reports, charts, tables and other exhibits. You will be highly motivated, articulate and comfortable with a diverse Finance role covering a variety of country offices, whilst working closely with the Regional Finance Management/leads.
