The role The Regional Awards (Grants) Coordinator (RAC) will support the Head of Awards Management in WCA in leading grant management / support across the WCA region, with a major focus on reporting and analysis. He/she will support the awards team in the monitoring and analysis of submitted reports to members, and will provide oversight on donor reporting performance, awards close out and Key Performance Indicators. Contexte : le projet AFTran est un projet qui consiste à appuyer un groupe  de 10 femmes qui démarrent une activité de transformation du niébé. L'appui aux femmes porte à la fois sur l'équipement, la formation, l'élaboration d'un plan d'affaires et le fonds de roulement.

  • formation = à la production, à l’hygiène, à la vente, à la gestion...
  • plan d’affaires = prévisions économiques (vérifier la rentabilité)
  • fonds de roulement = moyens disponibles pour le démarrage = achats de matière premières, d’emballages etc... en attendant les premières ventes

Objectifs/Résultats attendus : la/le stagiaire aurait pour mission d’accompagner les femmes à la réussite de cette opération.

The role The aim of this consultancy is to support the development of a comprehensive program on the protection of Migrant and Displaced children in West Africa, as part of a regional programmatic strategy. The role will also include taking a lead role in advising country offices to achieve improved quality assurance of their procurement processes. You will work with Country Offices to analyse and advise them to improve performance of their procurement processes in order to reduce operational costs, minimise wastage and improve the quality and timeliness of projects for the benefit of the children.

Protection de L'Enfant: Niveau 3: le titulaire du poste aura fréquemment des contacts avec les enfants et / ou les jeunes (par exemple une fois par semaine ou plus) ou intensivement (par exemple quatre jours dans un mois ou plus ) parce qu'ils travaillent sur des programmes nationaux; ou visitent des programmes de pays; ou parce qu'ils sont responsables de la mise en place du personnel chargé du processus de vérification / contrôle de la police. Objet de l'Etude et contexte Les zones urbaines africaines comptent aujourd'hui 472 millions d'habitants, une population qui doublera presque en 2030 - environ 791 millions - et qui pourra atteindre 1.4 milliards en 2050 (UN World Urbanisation Prospect, 2012). L'Afrique est une des régions du monde qui s'urbanise le plus rapidement et comptera 56% de sa population totale en milieu urbain en 2050. La croissance des villes est un facteur puissant de développement. Cependant, la croissance urbaine trop rapide est un facteur d'instabilité. A partir d'un certain seuil de progression, le fait urbain finit par générer l'exclusion et des poches de pauvreté de plus en plus résistantes. Ces poches à la longue quasi irréductibles, sont des ferments d'insécurité et de coûts sociaux considérables, qui sont parfois de nature à remettre en cause les acquis urbains. Cette explosion urbaine se traduit par le développement de quartiers précaires, sans organisation de l'espace et peu ou pas desservis en services essentiels (voierie, transport, électricité, assainissement, eau potable, etc.). Malgré ces nombreux défis, les informations sur les populations démunies en milieu urbain demeurent limitées et fragmentaires, rendant difficile l'évaluation du niveau et des tendances de la pauvreté en milieu urbain. Dans le cadre du projet HEA Sahel, Save the Children et ses partenaires ont développé plusieurs profils de référence HEA en zones urbaines et péri-urbaines. Depuis 2014, les zones urbaines de Bamako et de Sikasso, de Niamey, la zone péri-urbaine de Nouakchott, ainsi que les agglomérations en zone de réponses humanitaires de Diffa et de Maiduguri ont pu être ainsi analysées et représentent un apport significatif pour la compréhension des moyens d'existence et de l'économie des ménages en milieu urbain de la region. L'approche HEA permet en effet d'apporter une description détaillée des sources de nourriture, de revenus et du schéma de dépenses de différentes catégories de ménages, y compris ceux vivant en zones urbaines et péri-urbaines. Les profils HEA permettent également de mieux cerner les impacts possibles de chocs donnés, d'analyser les capacités d'adaptation des ménages, et d'identifier les paramètres clés (tels que les prix alimentaires, la production, l'emploi, etc.) qui peuvent affecter de manière significative la sécurité alimentaire des populations. Cependant, la compréhension du contexte urbain - et les complexités et spécificités des problématiques rencontrées - demeure un véritable défi pour une organisation comme SC notamment pour l'élaboration des programmes en milieu urbain et l'identification et l'atteinte des plus vulnérables, comme les enfants (Urban Survey Mapping 2016). L'Urban Initiative Strategy de Save the Children vise notamment à répondre à cette problématique en capitalisant sur des évidences clefs pour l'amélioration des programmes existants et la définition d'initiatives émergentes en milieu urbain. C'est pourquoi, les résultats des profils HEA réalisés par le projet, et notamment les informations sur les catégories de pauvreté et les schémas de vulnérabilité des populations urbaines, pourraient se révéler utiles et pertinents pour l'identification des besoins spécifiques et la promotion de solutions innovantes aux problématiques de développement urbain. Objectif de l'Etude L'Objectif de l'etude est de proposer une capitalization des profils HEA mis en oeuvre dans les zones urbaines de Niamey, Bamako et Maiduguri et de fournir une analyse permettant a Save the Children de contribuer aux débats sur la pauvreté et l'insécurité alimentaire en milieu urbain dans le Sahel. Il s'agit plus précisement de: Apporter un regard analytique et critique sur l'utilisation des résultats des analyses HEA(Profils et Outcome Analysis) par les acteurs humanitaires et/ou du développement intervenant en milieu urbain, d'en tirer les lecons apprises et d'améliorer les pratiques futures; Valoriser les évidences et resultats issus du HEA a travers une analyse permettant d'apporter une contribution aux principaux enjeux, défis et problematiques que pose le développement en milieu urbain et aux réponses appropriées notamment en termes de réduction de la pauvreté et du soutien aux moyen d'exsistence, d'adéquation des filets sociaux et de stratégies de lutes contre les vulnérabilités des ménages face au chocs. Resultats attendus A la fin de l'étude deux résultats sont attendus. Il s'agit de bénéficier : Des propositions techniques et recommandations concrètes pour une utilisation systématique de l'approche HEA pour informer les programmes et politiques de développement, de lutte contre la pauvreté, de reduction des risques et de protection sociale en milieu urbain ; Des recommandations détaillées sur les besoins et priorités en termes de réduction de la pauvreté et des vulnérabilités à l'insécurité alimentaire et nutritionnelle et de résilience en milieu urbain. Delivrables Les documents suivants sont attendus : Un rapport d'étude en version électronique et papier. Le rapport final ne devra pas dépasser 20 pages hors annexes et devra suivre la structure indicative en annexe 1 Durée du contrat: 2 Mois

Profil

Master degree in Supply Chain Management with senior professional experience in medical supply chain management is also acceptable. Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent Pharmacy qualification. 3+ years' experience in managing medical supply chains in fragile contexts. Experience of working with medical NGO in West and Central Africa, within complex/large scale country programs and in emergency response environments. Senior experience in Medical procurement including forecasting, quantification needs and preparing demands. Experience in conducting medical supply chain or health assessments / audits. Experience in setting up a medical supply chain, including Cold Chain. Experience in managing a medical warehouse of significant volume, and medical warehouse staff Experience in capacity building and mentoring clinical and logistic staff. Experience working with key institutional donors including ECHO, Global fund, USAID/OFDA. Experience in Public Health relating to Essential Medicines or National Drug Policies Previous experience in providing remote support Experience in the pharmaceutical industry or a drug regulatory agency in quality assurance. Previous experience with Save the Children is desirable Experience in project management and/or roll out of procedures, systems or significant changes in ways of working at country level. Experience of working with agencies and coordination groups in a humanitarian setting.

Description

Child safeguarding: Level 3: the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff. The role The post holder will provide support and technical advice to all health programmes within the region in order to develop, strengthen and review health supply chains. With regular visits to field sites, the individual will actively capacity build and empower CO pharmacists and medical supply chain officers in the safe and effective supply management of medicines and healthcare products. Contract length: 12 Months Renewable

CHILD SAFEGUARDING: Level 3: the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff. The role : The Media Manager role is a key management position meant to ensure that quality and timely media are produced for media organisations and other partners, and Save the Children, and to ensure visibility of Save the Children's brand. Central to achieving this would be to oversee a media strategy to highlight our emergency response in developing situations. A key part of the role, involving fifty per cent of the remit, will be to provide written/multi-media content to be shared with Save the Children's country offices around the world. This will be achieved by regular coordination and liaison with the Global Media Unit based in London. You will be expected to demonstrate initiative and be a self-starter who will generate ideas and drive content forward, providing compelling case studies, images and video, as well as spotting strong news lines and writing engaging headlines. The Regional Media Manager will act as a key focal point for all media requests from members. When necessary, this post-holder may act as a Save spokesperson. In addition to the above, the post holder will also be expected to build up the country's brand in-country, namely through national and regional media. The role will be based in Dakar, Senegal, but travel within the region will be a regular part of the responsibilities including providing additional support to regional and country offices. Fundamental to the job is the ability to gather, consolidate, analyse and share information in a way that is easily understood by news organisations, and other stakeholders.
