Profil
• Education background in international development, international relations, politics, or other relevant fields
• At least 1 year of experience in policy, advocacy, or research work on international development or humanitarian issues; preferably at multilateral or EU levels
• Strong interest in disability issues and issues relating to vulnerable populations in low and middle-income countries
• Previous work or internship experience in an International NGOs is desirable
• Familiar with: policy knowledge and analysis; preparation of evidence-based advocacy tools; communication and events for advocacy purposes
• Dynamic by nature, you’re capable to work collaboratively in a multicultural team, with diverse partners, and in a fast-paced environment

Description :The Inclusive Development Advocacy Assistant is part of HI Federation Advocacy and Institutional Relations team (AIR). This unit coordinates, organizes, manages and implements the advocacy of Humanity & Inclusion at global level. You will be part of a team of 6 people.
Under the supervision of the Inclusive Development Advocacy Manager, the Inclusive Development Advocacy Assistant provides support in implementing activities to achieve the policy changes objectives relating to the current priority topics for inclusive development advocacy, i.e. inclusive education, rehabilitation in health systems, and more broadly the inclusion of persons with disabilities in development cooperation.
The position is open in the Brussels office, with home-working arrangements a few days per week.
YOUR MISSION:
Support with monitoring and coordinating the implementation of HI advocacy strategies on inclusive development advocacy topics
• Support the review and updating of advocacy strategies, action plans and internal strategic mapping tools
• Assist in organizing and following up meetings of our internal coordination mechanisms
• Contribute to funding proposals, donor reporting and other material for donors
• Feed in internal communication channels (intranet, staff meetings)
Assist with the implementation of specific advocacy activities on inclusive development advocacy topics
• Monitor global policy developments and the work of relevant stakeholders
• Support elaboration and production of evidence based publications
• Assist in liaising with HI Programmes, National Associations, and specialists for data collection and the organization of advocacy initiatives
• Prepare and facilitate meetings with decision makers; possibly participate in such meetings
• Monitor the work and contribute to activities of networks HI is a member of
• Assist in the organization of side events at international conferences to disseminate advocacy messages; possibly participate in such international conferences and events abroad
• Assist with travel and other conference logistics (side events, HI delegation coordination etc.);
• Assist with communication (sending letters, writing articles etc.)
• Contribute to external communication tools (blog articles, videos, Q&A, website, social media)
Contribute to raising the quality and internal ownership of AIR work
• Comply with HI quality standards and internal procedures relating to advocacy
• Report any issues with compliance to the line manager
• Contribute to the design and delivery of presentations and other tools on advocacy
• Provide advocacy-related inputs into internal processes as requestedSalaire : - Fixed-term contract ASAP, possibly renewable
