Profil
- You preferably have a Bachelor or Master degree in law, banking or finance You have 3 years of relevant experience (notarial office, private bank, lawyers’ office…) Experience in organizing events is a plus.
- An excellent command of Dutch & French both oral and written is essential in this job. As WWF is an international organization, a good command of English is also necessary.
- You are enthusiastic and positive.
- Given the target public in this job (50+), an affinity for (prospective) testator is essential.
- You are representative, carefully, result and solution oriented. You are communicative very strong and easily make contact with people with divergent backgrounds and interests. You can listen.
- You are punctual, you demonstrate administrative rigor and are proactive.
- You can work systematically and independently, but also works well in a team. You set the bar naturally high and will never lose the quality in mind.
- You have a good knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- You have a driver’s license (having your own car is not needed).
- Obviously, you have affinity with the mission of WWF.
Description
WWF is expanding the fundraising team and is looking for a new legacy officer. You have solid experience of legacy administration, highly numerate, excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills as well as good organizational skills.
Purpose of the job:
To take overall responsibility and accountability for managing legacy administration, to deliver an effective programme of work that ensures WWF receives the maximum income from these estates to which it is entitled. To represent WWF whilst liaising with solicitors, personal executors and legacy staff from other charities. To develop and implement legacy administration processes and marketing to manage and grow future income.
Responsibilities & tasks:
1. Legacy Administration
- You will be the responsible to execute the will of donors
- You will be responsible on all main aspects of legacy bequests that come in, including liaison with external legal advisors in complex cases.
- Take care of all administrative matters re legacies
- You will perform analytical work including administration of existing legacies file and efficient records management.
- Answer questions from notaries, gather information, analyse
- Develop good working relationship with notaries in Belgium
- Introduce data in database, keep database and files up to date
- Seek legal advice for difficult cases
- Maintain the legacy database with all relevant information relating to legacy cases to enable the effective planning of WWF’s work. Including:
- That all valuation estimates are maintained and up to date
- Ensuring that case reviews are undertaken in a timely manner
- Implement a rigorous file closure procedure
2. Legacy Marketing
- Execute a marketing strategy to grow the number of requesters, intenders and pledgers
- Develop and implement campaigns to recruit and retain legacy supporters using direct mail, press, telephone and other media.
- Develop and implement a strategy for stewarding the legacy pledgers
- Develop donor profiling to better understand the profile of legators to support legacy marketing to other audiences.
- Introduce new initiatives and new ways of working to maximise legacy pledges from direct marketing and cross-organisation activities.
- Provide the head of philanthropy with administration support and regular reports including income and expenditure projections.
