*With a Master's Degree (academic or professional), you have at least 10 years of experience working overseas and in a multi-cultural environment, especially in an international context of development cooperation (e.g., NGO, international development or cooperation agency/organisation).
*You have proven knowledge of public health systems in resource-limited settings, either by professional experience and/or specific training.
Holding a Master in Public Health, Global Health, Health Economics or Epidemiology is a key asset.
Holding a medical degree or a PhD is an additional asset but not a prerequisite.
*You are used to leading multiple workstreams, projects/programs in resource-limited countries with diverse stakeholders,
in an organized and structured manner, ensuring that key deliverables are met on time.
*You have proven experience in preparing and submitting projects to get funding.
*You have strong leadership, project management and change management skills.
*You have proven experience in people management, driving and developing teams through transformation,
installing a culture of open communication and collaboration.
*You have strong communication and negotiation skills (written and oral) as well as good ambassadorial and diplomatic skills.
*You are action-and result-driven with the needed attention to detail, and proven ability to drive toward long-term results.
*You are fluent in English and French, spoken and written; you have a good knowledge of Dutch or at least are willing to learn it.
Knowledge of Spanish is an important asset.
*You are in favour of digital transformation to support and realize your mission and you have excellent computer skills with
proficiency in Office 365 applications.We offer

You are strong in leadership, project and change management and you want to help us grow and transform? If your answer tot these questions is yes then join.Damien Foundation is looking for a new Head of the Program & Overseas Missions Department!
Damien Foundation is a Belgian NGO active in the fight against leprosy, tuberculosis and other neglected poverty-related diseases, with projects in 15 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin-America and a project in Belgium.
As the Head of Program & Overseas Missions Department, your main role is to ensure that Damien Foundation (DF) realizes its vision and grows in making the difference : to provide all people affected by leprosy or tuberculosis with equitable access to high-quality diagnosis, treatment, care and prevention, without facing huge costs or social repercussions.
The Head of Program & Overseas Missions Department reports to the CEO and is part of the Management Team.
He/She directly manages a team of approx. 10 people consisting of program managers, medical advisors and supporting staff.
He/She is based in Brussels.Key Responsibilities
*You ensure the realization of the Program Department vison, strategic objectives and you lead the transformation journey, both within your Program Department team at the head office as well as in the countries.
*You ensure that program action plans in the countries and related annual budgets are prepared together, with the program managers and in close and mutual consultation with the medical advisors, within the approved time schedule.
*You ensure the preparation, development and implementation of co-financing and subsidy programs in close cooperation with the program managers (with a focus on the raltionship with the Belgian Directorate-General for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid- DGD); if necessary, you search for funding alternatives as part of the overall effort of the organization to boost fundraising.
*You ensure, coordinate and follow up on the successful end-to-end application of the project management cycle within the Program Department.
*You ensure, coordinate and follow up on the optimization of Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) within the organisation to ensure a qualitative, sound and sustainable management of operations across our program countries.
*You closely follow up on internal and external developments and adjust, if necessary, the implementation of the Program Department activities in close and mutual consultation with your team.
*You analyse applications for project expansion and intervention in new projects as well as withdrawals (phase-out) or project stop in view of realizing the vision and in consultation with your team, the CEO and local partners.
*You establish and implement partnerships with development performers (OMS, ILEP, Union, KNCV, fundraisers, universities, etc.).
*You are aware of evolution in medical development NGO's, you initiate and implement with your team, innovates ideas to ensure DF realizes its vision.
*You represent the association at various events to lobby and/or create synergies with Belgian, local and international authorities and other partners.
*You strengthen the Damien Foundation visibility abroad, at international organization level in Belgium, in cooperation with the Fundraising and Communication Department. You actively contribute to the sucess of the latter.
*You participate in contacts with the Damien Foundation network of volunteers according to the needs of the Communication and Volunteer Work Department.
