Profil
Requirements
- Master in Finance or Economics or equivalent through experience
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in internal control, bookkeeping and/or basics of financial management, preferably in international development cooperation
- Experience of working with multilateral donors such as the European Commission
- Ability to communicate fluently with different types of stakeholders
- Analytical skills with demonstrated experience of streamlining complex work processes and set-ups
- Results oriented problem solver with a can-do attitude
- Global vision and broad interests, experience of working in a multicultural setting
- Good knowledge of English and French, knowledge of Dutch and/or Spanish is an asset
- Self-starter with and ability to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines

Description
AgriCord is an alliance of 12 “agri-agencies” from Asia (1), Belgium (2), Brazil (1), Canada (Québec, 1), Finland (1), France (2), Germany (1), Senegal (1), Spain (1) and Sweden (1) . Agri-agencies are non-profit organisations for International Co-operation and Partnerships with structural links to the farmers’ organisations in their home countries. The agri-agencies cooperate with farmers’ organisations in more than 40 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America & the Caribbean for their organisational development, to improve their services to farmers, to run their economic businesses in a more efficient, sustainable and transparent way and to represent farmers’ voices in value chains and with policy makers.
AgriCord operates as a network, with a small central office based in the European centre of Brussels, currently working with 8 staff members and manages a multi donor envelope of programmes for its members.To strengthen our team we are now hiring a
FINANCIAL CONTROLLER – 1.0 FTE
Key responsibilities
- Related to AgriCord network and program financing from various donors
- Assist agri-agencies in financial reporting and management processes, including revising and consolidating financial reports from our members, with a focus on compliance with donor regulations and internal regulations.
- More specifically: in charge of the financial follow-up of a worldwide multi-stakeholder program with EU financing
- Prepare consolidated financial reporting for donors
- Co-organize capacity building workshops on financial management
- Manage the link between program related financial administration and accounting systems
- Participate in the definition, elaboration and implementation of financial management processes for the alliance
- Provide financial reporting support to Program Managers
- Related to the Central Office
- Assist with the annual closing of the accounts
- Prepare the necessary documents for external audits
- Revise financial procedures and keep them up-to-date
- Assist with all other financial duties as required
