Who Are You?
- You have a Master degree in Pedagogy, Law, Political Science, International Relations or any other degree that is relevant to development cooperation.
- You are strong in writing and reporting
- You are fluent in speech and writing in French and English. A good knowledge of Dutch and Spanish is an asset.
- You have a good knowledge of the themes relating to gender equality, girl- and child rights,
- You are committed to the values of Plan International
- And you respect the Safeguarding Children and Young People policy of Plan International

Purpose
As Programme Development Assistant you will work within the International Programs team, more specifically within the programme development cluster. The Assistant will contribute to the development of projects proposals in line with the donor regulations, the Country Office’s Strategic Plan and Plan International Belgium’s priorities and reports to the Program Development Manager.
Roles and responsibilities
Support to the development of project proposals
Tracking opportunities
- Monitor main donor’s political agenda and funding opportunities in line with Country Office’s Strategic Plan and Plan International Belgium’s priorities.
- Contribute to the identification and analysis of program development opportunities.
eveloping project proposals
- Contribute to the development of high-end project proposals (narrative and budget) from the needs assessment to the final submission, with specific focus in the area of education, child protection and youth economic empowerment.
- Contribute to the coordination of the project proposal development process in collaboration with the rest of the International Program Team of Plan International Belgium, involved Country Offices (COs) and other stakeholders within and outside Plan International.
- Carry out Desk Reviews in light of projects to be developed.
- Contribute to the knowledge management (monitoring, evaluation, research and learning) related to Plan International Belgium’s programs.
Support to the strategic development of the Business Development cluster
- Monitor relevant technical innovations and lessons learned (studies, evaluations) in the development and humanitarian community.
- Contribute to the development of results frameworks in the areas of education, child protection and youth economic empowerment.
- Contribute to build/develop fruitful professional relationships with key donors, International Headquarters (Global Hub), other National Organizations (NOs), Country Offices (COs), and other International NGOs.
