Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Three years of development project experience.
- Two years of fundraising experience.
- Experience writing proposals and presentations.
- Experience in monitoring and evaluation.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Fluent in English and French.
- Good computer skills.
- Supervisory experience.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Refugee experience
- Multi-national experience
- Dutch speaker

Overview:
SB Overseas is a young non-profit, non-governmental organisation based in Brussels, Belgium. Founded in 2013, SB Overseas provides direct and urgent humanitarian aid to civilians in conflict zones in Syria and in refugee camps in neighbouring countries. We give hope and opportunity to women and children whose lives have been torn apart by conflict by providing education, emergency aid and by fostering empowerment for refugees in Syria, Lebanon, Turkey, and Belgium.
The position of Senior Development Project Officer is responsible for the identification, planning and implementation of development projects; and the search for stable, continuous and reliable sources of funds.
Primary Tasks:
- Review and analyze the monthly reports from the centres to determine development project and funding requirements, and brief the Chairperson on content and concerns.
- Review and analyze the reports from SB Espoir and Volunteers Programme to identify development projects and funding needs, and brief the Chairperson on content and concerns.
- Research calls and other sources of funds from corporations, foundations, government organisations, and other international organisations.
- Engage in direct contact with potential donors, corporations and potential sources of funds.
- Preparation of reports and official letters for sponsors/donors providing updates and end-of-project reports with regard to expenditure of funds and overall success of the project.
- Supervise, the Development Project Intern, VCO + Communication Intern + SB Espoir Team Leader.
- Planning meetings in HQ.
- Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all stakeholders and ensuring that issues are presented to right team/ individual for resolution and closure.
- Manage the development, review and finalization of monthly project work plans.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of multi-country program initiatives.
- Prepare an implementation plan, timeline and cost for each approved development project.
- Evaluate, monitor and report to Chairperson on projects at SB HQ.
- Prepare development project proposals for presentation to the Chairperson.
- Monitor project implementation progress, and identify and address implementation challenges in collaboration with HOM and headquarter staff.
- Manage the development of ESPIRE program budgets and budget modifications, and monitor program expenditures to ensure activities are implemented within budgetary guidelines.
- Monitor changes to the project scope, schedule and costs and report or escalate to the unit directors as needed
- Participate in the design and implementation of assessments, program reviews and evaluation activities.
- Manage the documentation and dissemination of project results, including preparation and submission of progress reports, presentations, and other program documentation
- Support teams in the development and management of sub-agreements scopes of work and sub-agreement budgets, and monitoring progress of contract deliverables and expenses
- Acquire proficiency in organization approved project management and data analysis tools and support the development of new tools
- Award Management.
- Support the development of proposals on a need basis as proposal manager.
- Monitor the timelines for all donor action such as prior approval, continuation application etc.
- Prepare donor requirements package by driving and participating in the process with the relevant stakeholders.
- Engage with Team after the submission of the process to close any gaps in information.
- External Relationships.
- Develop and maintain working relationships with donors, partners and other stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with donor requirements and procedures and contribute to the preparation and implementation of corrective action plans.
- Attending conference to present SB work in BEL and LEB.
- Search for new partners
Secondary Tasks:
- Point of Contact for Monthly Reports from the centres.
- Oversight and quality control of SB Espoir weekend reports prepared by the SB Espoir TL.
- Assisting the Chairwoman at meetings.
