Context:
This position is created to support the administration and implementation of the TWIX platforms. TWIX (Trade in Wildlife Information eXchange) is an internet tool developed to facilitate information exchange and international co-operation between wildlife law enforcement and management officials. The first platform (EU-TWIX) was established in 2005 as a joint initiative by the Belgian Federal Police, Belgian Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora Management Authority (CITES MA), Belgian Customs, and TRAFFIC and current members include representatives from all EU Member States and ten neighbouring European countries. Two other TWIX platforms have been created in central and southern Africa since.
The TWIX tools have two components: a mailing list and a website containing useful resources and a database of wildlife seizures.
