CONTEXT
As a Data Engineer with the ICT Data & Analytics team, you will support the deployment and integration of new initiatives across the data landscape. Your responsibilities will span across contributing to the data strategy, enhancing and maintaining the cloud data engineering stack, and building robust data pipelines between applications and repositories. You'll ensure data quality and accessibility, while supporting the team in delivering impactful data analyses and visualizations to colleagues across the organization.
With a mid-term focus on finance, you’ll collaborate closely with the Finance and Application Support Unit (FASU) to develop and maintain the budgeting application (CPM Board). This includes designing Board screens, procedures, and cubes, as well as deploying and automating Data Pipes. Working alongside another Data Engineer, your emphasis will be on automation and CI/CD integration for the platform.

We are currently reshaping our data stack using cutting-edge tools like Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and Databricks to support ambitious operational projects. As an innovation incubator, we also lead MSF’s AI discovery efforts, ensuring our infrastructure evolves to keep pace with the latest AI trends.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Support and develop the application in collaboration with the FASU and a peer Data Engineer

Handle technical analysis, development, testing, deployment, and second-line troubleshooting

Maintain and develop data pipelines to and from Board

Drive Data-Ops initiatives in collaboration with other Data Engineers and Analysts

Help designing and implementing a structured framework that aligns our activities with a modern, scalable Data Platform

Implement and support Microsoft Fabric best practices

Develop data pipelines, semantic models, and reports, covering the full lifecycle: specification, development, testing, deployment, documentation, and support

Support AI Pilots / Project

Act as focal point for AI and tech scouting, ensuring the team stays up to date with emerging technologies and trends

Support AI pilots and projects, working with partners to explore and test new AI initiatives
CONDITIONS
*Due to legal administrative constraints, given the duration of the contract, candidates must already have the permanent right as Belgian or EU national, and/or valid work permit with mention ‘Unlimited access to the labor market’ to work in Belgium
**The final outcome depends on the residency of the candidate, the local legal limitations (residency, work permit, etc.) and on agreement with the hosting MSF entity of the(se) location(s)

Contract type: Open-ended contract – full-time – Homeworking possible

Mobility: Maximum 1 project visit and 1 visit to OCB head Office (if based in Nairobi) per year

The contractual terms, conditions and salary will be established according to the official residence of the selected candidate and administrative constraints (work permit, residency, etc.) and in respect of MSF function grids and salary policies
