Description

 

We are recruiting a new Grants Manager for our Iraq programme. In response to the current crisis in northern Iraq, WCUK is implementing protection and education programmes to meet the needs of refugee and IDP children.  You will ensure excellence in business development, grant management, reporting, and donor liaison. You will work with the country office teams to ensure relevant programming and funding for country programmes, ensure the compliance with WCUK’s Quality Framework, and help WCUK adopt new ways of working to realise our ambition. You will have the opportunity to work closely with the SMT, programme teams, and partner organisations to ensure sound conceptualisation and design of programmes. The position is suited to someone with strategic thinking and a desire to contribute developing the mission as a whole. You will work in a collegial and dynamic atmosphere where initiative and creativity are encouraged.

 

You will be an important part of a dynamic and experienced Senior Management Team (SMT). The SMT is currently being strengthened and this role is well suited to a dynamic and creative individual who wants to make a meaningful impact from within a growing INGO. You are a highly motivated individual with an interest in designing and implementing grant management best practice in a collegial environment, this role will be a of particular interest. All SMT members provide leadership in best practice and actively participate in shaping the country office and WCUK’s mission in Iraq. You will work in a dynamic and supportive environment with the opportunity to influence business processes.

 

 You will provide on the ground support to country office teams in designing high-quality projects and evidence-based proposals compliant with donor guidelines. A special focus will be given to Child Protection, Education and livelihood projects with an ambition to seek larger and longer-term funding opportunities for sustainable change.  You will be instrumental in developing strategic partnerships with INGOs, UN agencies, donors and government bodies. Part of your role will focus on mentoring country office staff to deliver increasingly high-quality materials that support grant management, fundraising, and advocacy initiatives. While not a core function of your role, there will be opportunity to become involved in strategic advocacy efforts based on your level of interest.
