Your profile

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of experience with education (teacher, educational assistant, teacher training, animation, creation of educational material, ...)
  • Strong interest in nature related topics.
  • A fluent writing style and excellent communication skills in a child-friendly language.
  • Excellent level of French with a good knowledge of Dutch and English.
  • Initiating partnerships to develop common projects is like second nature to you
  • Increasing WWF’s presence and impact in the Belgian educational system sounds exciting to you
  • You’re a people person: recruiting, training & managing a team of volunteers increases your enthusiasm
  • In possession of a valid driving license.
  • Willing to do occasional weekend work (Salon Education for ex).
  • A team player with a growth mindset, a good sense of humour, who can easily think outside the box and ready to roll up their sleeves.

Description

WWF-Belgium has a long history in Education and working with schools. We develop teaching materials, workshops and actions for schools (mainly primary and secondary education) on themes that are important to WWF, such as biodiversity and climate. To strengthen our team, we are looking for a new colleague with an educational background and a fluent pen, who likes to roll up his/her sleeves to help the Youth Team.

 

Your responsibilities:

You will be responsible for communication with teachers and schools, the promotion of our educational offering, the development of new teaching materials and the setting up of actions for classes and schools.

  • Develop education and awareness tools to make concepts more accessible to the target audience
  • Develop new educational and awareness-raising tools on WWF-related topics (Biodiversity, Climate etc...) and update existing materials
  • Define the project concept, resources and means
  • Develop and implement an action plan
  • Evaluate the project, according to the established model
  • Follow the budget dedicated to the project

 

  • Develop communication tools specific to the activity of the department to adapt the messages according to the characteristics of the different communication channels.
  • Select of contents relevant to the department's communication activities
  • Write texts and adapt them to the channels used, the communication objectives and the target audience
  • Feed the different channels of communication towards the target audience (website, newsletters ...)
  • Perform translations of some documents

 

  • Achieve objectives, drawing up a planning and budget, evaluating and adjusting as needed.
  • Drawing up and implementing an action plan (with planning and budget) to work out a new concept from A to Z.
  • Monitoring the allocated budget.
  • Evaluating and adjusting existing and new projects and operations.

 

  • Provide activities and workshops for the target group to raise awareness of the themes promoted by WWF and to promote behavioural change.
  • Organize activities (contacts stakeholders, block agendas ...)
  • Provide appropriate instructional materials on facilitation or training
  • Provide training (for teachers, students, etc.)
  • Welcome participants to the activities/workshops
  • Facilitate the groups (eg Climate challenge, Rangers ...)

 

  • Search for partners or suppliers to collaborate on departmental activities and to support the implementation of projects.
  • Search for partners
  • Drafting the “Cahier des Charges/Draaiboek”
  • Participate in the selection of suppliers
  • Negotiate contracts and have them validated by your hierarchy
  • Ensure the distribution of products/services by partners
  • Coordinate the work of suppliers

Monitor the budget to ensure support to the Director of Youth Programs.

Provide support to the team and other departments as needed.
