Profil

Knowledge, skills and work spirit

-       You are an all-rounder technical profile with general knowledge on various development environments and languages, application architectures and technology solutions.

-       You are ‘tech-savvy’, you like to experiment with innovative technologies, and are a fast learner.

-       You have a deep understanding of Data and are capable of structuring/modeling data to meet business requirements.

-       You have experience in development and/or design of web application front-ends that are ergonomic and easily understandable by users.

-       You have hands-on experience with at least 3 of the following technologies, and are eager/willing to build-up knowledge in the other ones: Html/Css/Javascript/Jquery, XML/Json, Ajax, ASP.Net/MVC, C# or similar OO languages, SQL querying, Data Warehousing concepts, Visual Studio/SSMS. Additional Knowledge in cloud environments (Azure/AWS), CRM (Dynamics), Business Intelligence & Dashboards/Reports is a plus.

-       You have the ability to analyze and explain complex information concisely. 

-       You are service minded, proactive and pragmatic.

-       You have minimum 5 years of experience in a technical function.

-       You are able to work independently, you are well organized and can prioritize.

-       You are fluent in English (both written and spoken). French and Dutch is a plus.

TECHNICAL BUSINESS ANALYST

 

The prime objective of Fairtrade Belgium is the creation of access to our market for producers from the global South. Information Collection and Management, Business Intelligence are increasingly essential to enable Fairtrade to fulfill its mission.

As our new colleague, you will play a key role in the analysis of the requirements from the various stakeholders, the translation into technical concepts, and the development of relevant IT solutions.

 

Job description

-       You will be the primary contact of Fairtrade Organizations in more than 25 countries, for the technical and functional aspects of a custom line-of-business web application known as ‘Connect’.

-       You will analyze new requirements and propose options for implementation, while keeping an overview of the bigger picture and ensuring that new features are in line with the overall objectives and do not compromise the long-term vision nor the stability and maintainability of the ‘Connect’ application. 

-       You will actively contribute to the developments and coding (in-house), with external support from 3rd party consultants. You will follow-up the overall implementation and external developments, when applicable.  

-       You will provide 3rd line technical support, troubleshoot and qualify incidents, forward to an external provider if applicable, and supervise resolution (1st line is with the local country, 2nd line is functional support, initial qualification & dispatching).

-       You will expand your knowledge on new and emerging technologies, identify opportunities for improvement of current IT applications as well as potential new projects. 

-       You will support your Belgian and international colleagues with your technical expertise and analysis skills for other current and future projects.
