Profil

  • You have a Master in Communication or Journalism
  • A significant experience as a journalist and a good network in the French speaking Belgian media represents an advantage
  • French is your mother tongue (or equivalent level), you are fluent in Dutch both written and spoken. You have a good command of English.
  • You are flexible (eg to give interviews on weekends, when necessary)
  • A driver’s license is preferred

WWF Belgium is looking for a Press manager& Spokesperson to replace the actual Spokesperson during her maternity leave (from November 2017 to June 2018).

Summary

The press manager will ensure WWF’s positioning and presence in the French speaking Belgian media. The position requires constant connection with the daily news agenda and being familiar with the main environmental media- both national and international.

 

Your role


Contribute to the elaboration of WWF Belgium's press strategy to support the visibility and impact of the organization
 Examples of tasks: 

• drafts press strategy and media plans
• defines the messages to be sent and the appropriate media
• defines the means and resources necessary for actions

Represent WWF in the Belgian press on daily basis
Examples of tasks:

 • gives interviews, presentations (and acts as a backup for the Dutch speaking Spokesperson when necessary)
• creates and grows relations with the French speaking press, creates a network
• contacts journalists or other media partners
• organizes and takes part in press events 

Implement the press strategy to ensure quality communication with the Belgian press
Examples of tasks: 

  • develops tailored made media content: media briefings, press releases, “cartes blanches”, reactive statements, press reviews, etc.
  • trains the internal experts and prepares them for media interventions
  • activates press followers on WWF’s Twitter account, website and all other relevant channels
  • ensures the required press coverage of key events and campaigns
  • constantly optimizes press tools
  • conducts daily media monitoring and media analysis
  • organizes press trips 2 or 3 times a year in selected WWF project areas
