Profil

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Professional experience in an FP&A position (min. 5 years)
  • MSF Field experience preferred
  • Experience with IT systems for finance planning & reporting (ex: TM1, Tagetik) a strong asset
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Experience in project management an asset
  • Excellent writing skills, excellent oral communication
  • Organised, detail-focused, accurate, problem-solving skills
  • Fluent English and French
  • Open-end contract (CDI) – full time - Based in HQ (Brussels)
  • Hospital Insurance (DKV) - Pension plan – Canteen – reimbursement (100%) for public transportation costs
  • Starting : immediate

Description

CONTEXT

The mission of the Finance Department is to ensure that financial statements give a true and fair view of the financial position of MSF Belgium and to ensure an optimal use of financial resources.

Within the Finance Department, the Financial Control & Risk Management Unit is responsible for the quality and coherence of the financial information. It is a unit composed by 6 persons who participate actively in the creation, diffusion and development of the management control function at different levels of the organization (HQ & Field). Among others this unit is in charge of developing tools and implementing processes to achieve this objective.

The Financial Control & Risk Management Unit is a key element in the strategy of the Finance Department to ensure an efficient use of resources. Its role is not limited to control only but should cover the promotion and implementation of corrective actions and good practices aiming at improving the performance and efficiency of MSF Belgium.

The Field Tools and Processes Referent reports to the Financial Control & Risks Coordinator. His mission is to ensure that a consistent set of tools and procedures is available to Finance Teams in the field.

To reach this objective, the Field Tools and Processes Referent works closely with the Operational Finance Team, the FAC team and the Risk Management Team in order to ensure that field needs are adressed adequately. He also interacts regularly with the Finance Tools Referent (in charge of field accounting systems and of the technical part of Excel tools) as well as with the Finance Learning Officer.

JOB PROFILE

  • Takes part in the Business Intelligence / Corporate Performance Management Tool project for the definition of business needs / requirements
  • Leads and coordinates the definition of field financial planning and analysis tools and processes
  1. Defines together with the Operational Finance Team and Operational Finance Coordinator the policy, process and methodology for budgeting & forecasting
  2. Defines functionalities of budgeting & forecasting tools (project, mission and consolidation of all missions) and ensures alignment of tools with processes; work as a team with the Finance Tools Referent in order to ensure the proper functioning of the tools; work as a team with the Operational Finance Team in order to ensure appropriation of tools by the missions and alignment of tools with needs
  3. Liaises with other departments in order to improve collaboration & collection of data needed for financial planning & analysis
  • Leads and coordinates the process of designing and updating a consistent set of financial management procedures for the missions
  1. Leads the project of definition of minimum standards for field financial management
  2. Liaises with the FAC, the Finance Officers and the Risk Management Team in order to ensure the overall consistency of procedures and tools to be implemented in all OCB projects
  3. Writes, updates and adapts procedures when necessary
  • Supports the Risk Management Team in designing internal control & risk management tools
  1. Supports the Risk Management Team in the definition of the business needs / requirements and in the identification of a solution for the new Mission Risk Monitoring Tool
  • Leads or provides ad hoc support to other projects and assignments of the Finance Department
