Contract Length : 40 days Location : Homebased Background Since 2010, Save the Children is implementing in the Sahel region and in collaboration with Oxfam, Action against Hunger, the World Food Program, a project on the Household Economy Analysis (commonly called Household Economy Analysis, HEA). Through capacity building in the 7 countries of coverage (Burkina Faso, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Mali, Senegal, Chad), the Sahel project aims to provide HEA quality information to national and regional Early Warning Systems as well as to others stakeholders involved in food security, social protection or livelihoods. The reliability of the HEA analyzes was built thanks to a strong commitment of the implementing partners to build technical capacity in countries and through rigorous and quality analyzes. In addition to the Cadre Harmonise Framework conducted in the West and Central Africa region twice a year, the HEA analyzes inform the government's plans for the most vulnerable populations as well as the response plans of the humanitarian actors. In addition to regular presentations of results at national and regional level in the food security and nutrition working groups, summaries of the analysis are published in the joint bulletin FAO / WFP. Detailed HEA Baselines and Outcome Analysis reports are also published on a website dedicated to the HEA in the Sahel (www.hea-sahel.org). Information from the HEA baselines is also presented in an Atlas that seeks to identify the geographical features of the HEA information across the Sahel around several key themes like the livestock ownership of the different HEA wealth groups, dependence of the different households to markets or the main risks associated to agriculture or livestock. A preliminary atlas was developed in 2013 updated in 2014 with 67 rural baselines. This document that was presented to the policy makers in the 7 countries of the project was also made available on the HEA Sahel website: http://www.hea-sahel.org/profils-hea/region-sahel A new version of the Atlas is expected to be published before end of 2017. Purpose/Objectives The objective of this consultation is to update the 2014 Atlas version trough an editing, a designing and a printing work. Scope of work The technical content of the document is currently being developed by another group of consultants. The information will be provided into 2 different documents: a technical narrative in a word document and some maps presented in a set of JPEG files. The information will be shared in English and the work expected from the consultant include: Copy editing signed off text in English Typesetting the text in French (Save the Children will deal with translation English to French) and designing the Atlas in French and in English. Checking and Preparation of final PDFs Expected results At the end of the consultancy production of a 2017 Atlas version is expected resulting in the printing of an English and a French version of the Atlas. A total of 100 copies (English version) and 200 copies in French version is expected to be printed. Timeframe and budget available The consultancy is home based with no travels planned. The number of days expected will be maximum 40 days with the following dates: Start date: 18 September 2017 Draft products: 30 October 2016 (tbc with consultant) Final products: 15 November 2017 (tbc with the consultant)
